About This Website
Our website uses a Community Geographic Domain Name (CGDN). auDA is a not-for-profit body endorsed by the federal government as the industry regulator of the .au domain name space. They have recently made domain names available specifically for use by local communities. Community geographic domain names are available for every suburb and town in Australia. This website is an initiative of the Lobethal Community Association. We believe this is an exciting initiative with the potential to contribute economically and socially to our town. The website will help build stronger networks within our community and promote and connect Lobethal with other communities both nationally and in South Australia.
Our objectives are to provide:
- A single point on the net from which to access information about Lobethal
- A tool for promoting Lobethal as a tourism destination
- Access to information about the Lobethal Community Association - including agendas, minutes, meeting dates etc
- A place for community groups, clubs and businesses to develop their own web page for little or no cost.
- An on-line business/community services directory
- The potential to generate income through sponsorship for community projects
