The LCA's most recent success clearly demonstrates that working together can result in problems being fixed.

In April, Main Street traders became actively involved with the Lobethal Community Association (LCA) regarding a number of vehicle accidents in the street. Local businesses, Lobethal Newsagency, Lobethal Auto Care and Foster Pingel's Hairdressing, Sports and Camping, united with LCA to write to the Adelaide Hills Council expressing concern at the number of incidents where drivers had collided with the ‘invisible' traffic islands protecting the new light poles.

Council resolved the issue quickly by installing flexible white marker posts in each traffic island.

It is hoped the white posts will overcome the problem of car accidents with the traffic islands.
